After graduation, Susan worked a year with the Young Adult in Global Mission program, sponsored by the Global Missions Unit of the ELCA, at a youth recreational and conference centre in Cleobury, Mortimer England. Susan then attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, graduating in 2010 with a Masters of Art in Religion degree.
