David Seymour - Pastor

Pastor David Seymour has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from UNC-Charlotte, a Master of Divinity degree from the Divinity School of Duke University, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.  He has served congregations in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and North Carolina.  Currently Pastor Seymour resides in Newberry with his wife Marilyn, an English professor at Newberry College.

Susan Jackson - Ministries Coordinator

Susan is a native of Salisbury, Md but has found her home in the South. She attended Lenoir Rhyne College, graduating with a B.A. in French, Philosophy, and Relgious Studies. After graduation, Susan worked a year with the Young Adult in Global Mission program, sponsored by the Global Missions Unit of the ELCA, at a youth recreational and conference centre in Cleobury, Mortimer England. Susan then attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, graduating in 2010 with a Masters of Art in Religion degree. Recently, Susan has been approved to become a Rostered Associate in Ministry, a lay roster in which candidates trained and equipped with skills to develop leadership and discipleship amidst the body of Christ. Susan loves to work with youth and has been involved in several different programs, including Young Life, over the years. Her current joy is being an aunt to six-month-old Abigail, a cute and bubbly baby whom is beginning to learn how to crawl.

Mary Williams - Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary

Mary Roach Williams was born and raised in Newberry, South Carolina.  She attended Newberry County schools and graduated in 1990 from Newberry High School.  She graduated from Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, South Carolina and was a Founder's Scholarship recipient.  Mary is married to Blair Williams and has two children, David and Luke.  The Williams family resides in Newberry, South Carolina.  Mary has worked at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer since February 2001 as the Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary.  

Gayle Lindley - Children's, Chime, Handbell, and Senior Choirs Director

Gayle Lindley started the Handbell Choirs at Redeemer in 2006.  She assumed the position of director of the Senior Choir in April 2008 and the Children's Choir in August 2009.  Gayle holds degrees from Lenoir-Rhyne University and The University of Florida.  Gayle has one daughter and four grandchildren.

Huger was born on December 26, 1977.  He was raised in Newberry County attending the Prosperity, Rikard, and Mid-Carolina schools graduating in 1996.  He attended Newberry College and graduated with honors in May 2000.  He has taken graduate courses from Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.  Huger served as the Ministries Coordinator at Redeemer from June 2004 to August 2010.  In April 2008, Huger was appointed church organist.  In addition to his duties as organist, Huger teaches Algebra I at Newberry High School.  His hobbies include reading, writing, gardening, traveling, and music.

Kristin Caughman - Junior Choir Director

Kristin began directing the Junior Choir in September 2008.  She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Newberry College and a Master of Music Education from the University of South Carolina.  While in high school, she attended the Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville, SC.  Since August 2006, she has been the director of the choral program at Newberry Middle School.  During the summer of 2010, Kristin was appointed the director of the Newberry Middle School Band and assistant to the Blue Brigade Band of Newberry High School.
